Andrew Barton

I have been a member of ASRI since 2002. I was the Structures team leader for the AUSROC2.5 project until Feburary 2005 when I left Australia to work in the Netherlands. Currently I'm involved a number of aspects of AUSROC2.5 including structural analysis, aerodynamics, aero loads and detail CAD on the engine. I am currently employed (by AOES B.V) as a contractor at ESTEC, the research centre for ESA. I am in the technical directorate and assist ESA in the area of spacecraft and rocket structures where I have provide technical assistance to various projects within ESA including the VEGA rocket, ECSS standards editing, FEM of satellite structures, and the Future Launchers Preparatory Program (FLPP).Prior to this job, I was employed for 2 years as an acoustical consultant in Sydney with Wilkinson Murray Acoustical Consultants. In 2001 I completed a Ph.D. at the University of Sydney in the area of structural optimisation, and in 2001-2 I did the Master of Space Studies at the International Space University (ISU) in Strasbourg, France.
